Koroso is a member of the Chamrecc Parents Association, Tasmara, Kenya, and he was among the first parents to learn Transcendental Meditation (TM) almost two years ago.
He has had wonderful experiences with his meditation and has now become a very strong proponent of TM in his neighborhood.
For a long time, he suffered from symptoms of posttraumatic stress as a result of several traumatizing experiences. He had all his cattle stolen on two occasions. Another time he had travelled to Nairobi with cash to buy a mini bus. En route, he was robbed at gunpoint and all his money was stolen. He has also lost many friends and close relatives through various raids by cattle thieves.
Narrating to us his story, he explains:
“I never used to sleep at night. Once in bed, I would turn and turn and turn, and my head would run round and round like one reading a newspaper the whole night.’
‘Now, since I learned and practice TM, I easily fall asleep, my health has improved and my general attitude and social behavior have changed for the better.”
He formed the Kogetarakwa group to assist others suffering from similar situations in life and to uplift their socio-economic wellbeing.
