Esperance's Story

After Esperance's husband was killed, her in-laws turned against her and she was tortured and raped, within view of her children. When she came for her initial interview and was asked to describe her present situation, she cried as she explained what she had been through and described her state of mind saying, "my mind all the time thinking too much, too much. A lot in my mind. I have a lot in my mind...."

After she learned TM, Esperance  came to her follow up interview smiling and wearing makeup. As she spoke, she laughed often and said about the meditation technique, "it helps me live, yes, no more dreams, no more dreams. You wake up; you're not angry at anyone. You're Just, the mind is relaxed like, I'm washed, forgotten what was in my mind before. "

Although remarkable, Esperance's experience is actually representative of the kinds of benefits participants are seeing with the TM technique.
